Railway Telecommunications
Signalling and Train Control 2010 threw a spotlight on the importance of railway telecommunications in the successful development of Europe’s signalling networks. Industry leaders from railways, associations and suppliers engaged in enthusiastic and progressive debates on the challenges of optimising telecommunications networks to deliver increased interoperability, efficiency and capacity. These same industry experts asked for a dedicated forum to address these challenges. Railway Telecommunications 2011 is that event.
The telecommunications industry is advancing at a rapid pace. Advanced radio planning and the development of a new railway system based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) are well underway. With some railways only just starting GSM-R trials, the industry needs to identify a unified method of ensuring that railways can harness the benefits of these new technologies.
Railway Telecommunications 2011 will bring together senior signalling and telecommunications experts from rail infrastructure managers, train operating companies and suppliers. They will discuss the challenges of maximising GSM-R whilst developing LTE, covering topics relating to system requirements, technology selection, implementation and testing.
